Hello out there to my peeps in cyber world!

I have to be honest. I’m nervous and scared to death but promised myself I would take this plunge. Do you have anything in your life that you have a great desire to do but are being held back… for whatever reason? I have been itching to write a blog for years but just haven’t done it and I’ve made a MILLION excuses. The bottom line– I’m scared. Scared of what? I’m not really sure. I try to talk some sense into myself. Seriously, what do I have to be afraid of? I know that God did not give me a spirit of fear so I will not fear writing this blog. Anything that happens as a result of this, will only make me stronger and push me out of my comfort zone more (which I totally want to do and don’t want to do at the same time).

This blog to me, compares to a super hot day and you know that feeling when it’s so hot and you’re sweating so bad. You want to dive in the refreshing water but you are afraid the water is going to be shockingly cold. You know eventually it won’t be bad, it will actually be awesome. But you don’t want to have to go through that initial adjustment. You want it to be comfortable right away- even though you know it will be seconds until your body adjusts to the temperature of the water, you just don’t want to have to deal with that transition. You sit and wonder should I do it? As your mind drifts, beads of sweat come together and drip down over your brow. The heat gets to you so bad, you know you can’t just sit in the smoldering sun any longer.

The water. It’s drawing you in- you can’t stop staring at it. You go over to the edge of the pool, look down and see your reflection in the water. The crisp, clear, refreshing water. You look around and see others enjoying the water and being relieved from the heat and you know you want to get in. Now you stand up and slowly, with delicate balance (trying not to fall in) dip your foot in the pool or perhaps you decide to just dive right in. In life, which is more common to you? Dipping your foot in the pool or diving in? What is it that you’ve been wanting to do but are being held back? What is the fear is keeping you from doing it?

Quit making excuses. Don’t hold back, don’t give in to fear. DIVE IN!

Setting up this blog was dipping my foot in the water. Writing this entry- well that’s diving in! And me oh my, the water feels fine!

    This is so me but I rarely just dive in. I usually dabble my foot in the water before walking away. I’m interested to see what’s next. 🙂
